New higher fines for speeding in Bulgaria in 2017
Since 2017 there is a new Law on driving rules in Bulgaria.
In compliance with the new Law new higher fines and penalties for speeding in Bulgaria will be imposed:

| 41-50 km/h | 600 + withdrawal of 12 control points | 400 + withdrawal of 12 control points | 800 withdrawal of 12 control points |
| над 50 km/h | 700 + deprivation of a driving license for 3 months + 1 month stopped vehicle for movement + withdrawal of 16 control points. In case of speeding over 50 km/h, for each exceeded 5 km/h the fine increased by BGN 50. | 600 + deprivation of a driving license for 3 months + withdrawal of 16 control points. * In case of repeated violation the fines is doubled.
** In case of systematically speeding the fine is double + revocation of driver’s license for a period of six months..
